History and archaeology

Neolithic, Bronze Age, Duns and Brochs, Vikings, Lords of the Isles, emigration, Crofting - Barra is steeped in history and has a huge variety of ancient and more modern sites of interest, all over \Barra, Vatersay and the other Barra Isles. Many are quite accessible, but others involve some walking - all part of the charm of this island.
